There’s a reason Scott is really good at what he does. He demands the best from you and in return you get the results and more.
I’ve been into fitness my whole life. The gym has always been part of my lifestyle. Eating well and exercising was and is always of the utmost priority to me. When you look good, you feel good about yourself and that contributes to your overall health.
A few years ago, Scott approached me at my gym and said I had the physique to compete in the Fitness Industry. I have to admit, it did make me think “wow, here’s a professional expert approaching me and saying this… could this actually be true?” Needless to say I didn’t pursue it at the time. For me, competing in Fitness did not equate to health. Sure you end up looking good but at what cost I thought to myself.
At the time I had heard so many misconceptions about competing. I was convinced that it was not healthy for me. Although I was in shape, I was not willing to compromise my health so I could achieve the physique that most of us see as unrealistic.
The thought of competing has always been in the back of my mind. As the years went by, I learned more about the sport, learned more about executing the exercises with proper techniques. The idea of taking my workouts to another level always intrigued me. Scott no longer worked out at my gym. I hadn’t seen him for at least five years. I knew a couple of his clients and the word was that “Scott is the best in the business”.
Five years later, I contacted Scott, sent him some photos of myself and asked, “Do you think I’m too old to compete?” His reply was, “It doesn’t matter how old you are!” That’s when I decided to go for it. I started on a workout plan and worked diligently to achieve a personal goal, which was to get into the best shape of my life and to compete, all naturally, in my first Figure competition.
I have to admit, it takes commitment and a lot of discipline. You have to decide that you’re doing it for yourself and that you want to do it. There’s a reason Scott is really good at what he does. He demands the best from you and in return you get the results and more.
Although my goal was to do one competition, so far I’ve competed in two and going on to do my third. In April/09 I competed in the Stratford Championships and placed 1st in the Level I Figure class and 4th in the Masters. I then competed in the South Central Mississauga Championships in May/09 and took home 2nd place in Level II Figure class and 4th in the Masters. I’m now going on to do the Ontario Championships Level III in June/09. Not only did I achieve my personal goal of competing, but I feel great and at age 43, I’m in the best shape of my life.
After working with Scott I can attest to the statement that he is the “best” and that if you (the reader) are looking to be your best I’d highly recommend Scott. Thank you Scott!
